This is my 5F6A clone, my first ever vacuum tube project. Originally the transformers and octal sockets were parts in a Stromberg Carlson Tuner/Power amp. When I first found this ( yes- found- at the dump), I knew it would be something cool. Just not how to make it cool. After much studying and research I chose the Fender Bassman circuit to clone. You can see on the innards shots that I used a Turret style approach. I used these 'cause I found them cheap at ACK electronics here in Atlanta. And yes, that is a piece of 1/4" Luan ( cheap door facing) used as a circuit board. The remaining componenets I aquired at what was formerly TechAmerica, now absorbed by Radio Shack. The chassis is a surplus electrical box of some sort. Definitely worth the $5 it cost. You may have noticed the mix-n-match potentiometers - I just reused what was already in the original donor amp. The 3 preamp tubes are OS 12AX7, the rectifier is OS RCA 5U4GB, and the Tetrodes are Sovtek 5881WXT.
